Bobby Rushton - HEad Coach
Bobby began his coaching career in Connecticut in 2011 as the head coach of Ridgefield High Schools freshman lacrosse team. His team ended the season with a 13-1 record and was an assistant coach for the Class L championship varsity team. In 2012, Bobby joined New Canaan as an assistant coach where the Rams went 19-4 won the FCIAC and were CIAC runner-ups. In 2013, Coach Rushton went 19-3 as the Rams won their second straight FCIAC title.
Bobby graduated from Sacred Heart University in 2009. He played all four years for SHU as a member of their lacrosse team. In 2007, Rushton finished fourth on the team in points, and first on the team in goals. Following the 2007 season Rushton was named Offensive MVP. He was voted captain of his team for the 2008 & 2009 seasons. On his career, he recorded 43 goals. He played in all 49 games and started every game in 2008 & 2009. Rushton was a CAA player of the week, and received the Enterprise Student-Athlete Award. He finished off his career with 1 goal and 1 assist in the NEILA East-West All-Star game.
Bobby attended West Islip High School on Long Island, NY and graduated in 2005. His class pioneered the rise of West Islip into a national powerhouse. In his junior year, West Islip finished 22-1 and finished the year ranked #2 nationally. Recording their first ever County, Long Island & Down-state Championship as well as a Class A state-finalist. In 2005, while entering the season ranked #1, they finished ranked #2 and finished the season 19-2. This was the first time in school history that they finished in the Top 5 nationally and went on to record back -to -back County & Long Island Championships. Bobby was captain of the 2005 team and team MVP as well as earning All County and All Division honors. He also played football, where he was a captain and All County running back. He played in the county all-star game where he scored the first touchdown for his county. Rushton also was a member of the wrestling team.
Erich Skelly - Assistant Coach
Erich Skelly is entering his third season as an assistant coach in 2019 with the Sacred Heart men's lacrosse program.
Prior to SHU, Skelly was an assistant coach at Binghamton for three seasons. He worked with the defensemen and goalies and helped develop the defensive game plan. As an assistant the Bearcats reached the 2014 America East Tournament and had their highest conference finish since 2004, going 4-1 to finish second. In three seasons, Skelly coached 12 America East All-Conference honorees, six America East All-Rookie Team selections, six America East All-Academic honorees, and two USILA North-South Game participants.
He started his coaching career at his alma mater, The College at Brockport. After graduating in 2010, Skelly served as an assistant coach for the 2012 and 2013 seasons. As Defensive Coordinator, Brockport’s defense improved both seasons and led the State University of New York Athletic Conference at nine goals per game allowed in 2013. He also coached the program’s first All-American, defenseman Collin King. As a player at Brockport, Skelly led the team in ground balls twice and caused turnovers once in 2010. He was a three-time selection to both the SUNYAC Commissioner’s Academic List and the SUNYAC All-Academic Team.

At Eclipse Lacrosse Club, we announce all the current college players who will be helping coach our teams after the NCAA season as completed. Each year, Eclipse lacrosse club has over 25 current college players help throughout the summer. Many of the players are now Eclipse Lacrosse Club Alumni.
