COACh jay robbins - 2022 team 2 head coach

Jay Robbins was a 4 year starter at midfield and the face-off specialist for the Division I lacrosse team at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA. While attending UMass the team made it to the NCAA tournament his sophomore and senior years. Upon graduation Jay was the assistant lacrosse coach for New England College in Henniker, NH.

At Darien High School Jay was instrumental in Darien’s first-ever FCIAC Championship lacrosse season in 1992. He was first team All-FCIAC, All-State, All-American, Team Captain and Team MVP his senior year. He played fullback and middle linebacker for the two-time State Champion football teams in ’91 and ’92 and named first team All-FCIAC. Jay was also All-FCIAC, All-State and Captain of the indoor track team finishing 2nd in the state in hurdles and the 4x200 relay.

Jay began coaching youth lacrosse in Darien while he was still a senior in high school. He has coached various teams and clinics since then, most recently the Darien 8th grade A team.
